Garden Notes 2009
April 24: Mary Winger, Jenny Thompson, and I spent about 1.5 hours cleaning up the bed. Crocuses and snow iris were blooming; tulip foliage was up. There were a few poppy mallows that looked like they had rotted during the winter.
The following were blooming on April 24th:
Crocus ancyrensis 'Golden Bunch'
C. chrysanthus 'Cream Beauty'
C. sieberi 'Tricolor'
C. tommasinianus 'Ruby Giant'
C. vernus 'King of the Striped'
Iris danfordiae
I. reticulata 'Pixie' (snow iris)

May 15:
Today the Tulipa tarda's are in full bloom and golden currant, creeping phlox (Phlox subulata) and Wooly speedwell (Veronica pectinata) are just starting to bloom.

June 1, 2009:
The Phlox subulata (creeping phlox), wooly veronica (Veronica pectinata) and mountain alyssum (Alyssum montanum) are all blooming profusely on the water-wise side of the bed.
